Small Batch Artisan Roasting. A catch phrase and personal commitment in a world of coffee roasters producing specialty coffee. An industry art form that takes roasting and coffee to places only described by quality and experienced by taste. Where the flavor embodies an aroma that draws each of us to ask for a cup.

Ancora Coffee Roasters started out as one coffee shop with no more than one Diedrich roaster in the heart of Madison, Wis. Their passion – small batches, carefully watched by industry trained craftsmen. Their dream – bring this, the best that coffee has to offer… the best that Seattle and the world has to offer to the Midwest.

After 15 plus years, Ancora remains committed to the same ideals – excellent coffee from all regions, New World, Pacific, and African. They have now grown to three Ancora Coffee Houses serving the Madison area… Oh, and a slightly larger Diedrich roaster.

In the same period, Ancora’s vision has grown as well – “To build a company that selects and roasts extraordinary coffees and guides specialty coffee entrepreneurs to success.” Ancora’s owners, roasters, and sales staff are part of the small family element that makes John Harbor’s and other coffee houses successful.
