What is in a name?
So get this… We've been in business for a while now and I get these people that come up to me and ask, "So why is the name John Harbor's? I don't get it."

No, these are not your normal inquisitive requests for information, these are people who are genuinely angry with me. Yeah, really. They are angry. And, it's like they're yelling at me for naming the business John Harbor's Main Street Coffee House.

"So", they say to the proprietor (that's me), "why is this business called John Harbor's Main Street Coffee House?" I hold back that prodding part of my personality that wants me to say, "because Starbuck's was already taken."

Seriously… of all the things in business, the one thing I never imagined was angry people yelling at me because they couldn't figure out the reason behind the name. It does make me chuckle. The marketer in me is definitely happy. It means that on some level, whatever we did to name the business worked. Now, I wasn't going for a marketing trick that would get under anyone's skin, but I did want something memorable.

So, without further ado, let me share a little insight into the name with a little story I like to call "The Wink And Nod".
